Ghadi Helou, Doctor of Physical Therapy

I’ve lived the athlete’s journey — from signing a professional soccer contract at 15 to competing in varsity college soccer. After tearing my ACL and undergoing multiple surgeries, I learned how frustrating it is when injuries and pain hold you back.

That experience inspired me to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston’s MGH Institute of Health Professions — a Harvard Medical School–affiliated institution and one of the nation’s leading programs.

My mission is simple: to help you avoid injuries I went through, recover from pain, and perform at your full potential.

Following your evaluation, I will design a step-by-step, personalized treatment program built specifically around your body, your lifestyle, and your performance goals.

Step 4: Dedicated Treatment Sessions

In-person sessions are dedicated, one-on-one, and include hands-on manual therapy. The virtual program is a flexible, self-paced plan with direct guidance and check-ins, allowing you to reduce pain and build strength on your schedule.

Your recovery doesn't stop when our session ends. As an optional service, I provide ongoing support via calls or text to answer your questions and provide guidance between our sessions, ensuring you always feel confident and on track.

What exactly happens on the free consultation call?

This is a relaxed, 15-minute conversation for us to get to know each other. You'll have a chance to share what you've been experiencing and what your goals are. I'll listen, ask some questions, and explain my approach. There is no sales pressure and no obligation, it's simply our opportunity to see if we're a good fit to work together.

Do I need a doctor's referral to see you?

No. California is a "Direct Access" state, which means you can seek physical therapy without a physician's referral. This allows us to get started on your recovery sooner. If at any point I determine your condition requires a medical doctor's attention, I will refer you to the appropriate provider.

I've tried physical therapy before and it didn't work. How is your approach different?

Many of my patients have had that same experience. My approach is different in three key ways:

1. It's always one-on-one: You get my undivided attention for the entire session. No aides, no double-booking.

2. We find the root cause: I focus on discovering the "why" behind your pain, not just treating the symptoms, which leads to a long-term solution.

How do I know if virtual or in-person care is right for me?

We can determine the best path for you on our discovery call, but a good guideline is:

In-Home (Los Angeles): Ideal if you prefer a hands-on approach with manual therapy or have a complex issue that benefits from in-person assessment and treatment.

Virtual: Perfect for busy individuals, those outside LA, or conditions that can be effectively managed through guided exercise, education, and movement analysis.

What kinds of conditions and injuries do you treat?

I treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including back and neck pain, joint pain (shoulder, knee, hip), sports injuries, and post-operative recovery. I have a special focus on helping active individuals and lifters get back to performing at their best, but my mission is to help anyone looking to overcome pain and move with confidence.
